Hyperion Technology Pty Ltd (Hyperion) is an Australian company incorporated in 1999 to identify, research and commercialise innovative ideas for the benefit of organisations worldwide. One of its core beliefs is that such new concepts must be translated into simple, cost-effective and reliable products in order for clients to enjoy real benefits.Hyperion’s first project has been the development of the autoSCRIBE voice logbook. This product was originally designed to help Australian organisations reduce their Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) liability by enabling them to switch from the Statutory Formula to the Operating Cost method of assessment. Until the development of the autoSCRIBE, paper-based logbooks were the only medium approved by the Australian Tax Office (ATO) for the provision of the data required to substantiate Operating Cost assessments.
It soon became apparent that the concept of "paperless recording systems" had applications for more than FBT returns. The addition of Commercial Capital Pty Ltd to the share register in 2002 has enabled Hyperion to pursue these other market sectors, in areas such as risk assessment, police operations, equipment hire and invoicing, and driver management.
